Hoosier Energy supports softball improvements
FARMERSBURG, IN - Hoosier Energy is pleased to announce its participation in the softball field upgrade project at North Central High School in Farmersburg.
Representatives from the power supplier’s Merom Generating Station, the North Central athletic department and the Ladybirds softball team will celebrate completion of the project in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the school’s softball field.
Hoosier Energy donated $5,000 toward the rebuilding of the score tower and backstop structure at the field.
As a cooperative business, Hoosier Energy is committed to the communities it serves. Many of the company's employees at the Merom Generating Station live in Sullivan County and are North Central graduates.
“We live and work in the community and are proud to support projects such as this that have a lasting impact on our community and our youth,” said Jon Bobbitt, Merom Station Plant Administrative Coordinator and Sullivan County resident. “Hoosier Energy congratulates the North Central High School Softball team on their Class 2A State Championship in the summer of 2015 and wish them luck this season as they defend their title.”
Previous Hoosier Energy contributions to support the Sullivan County community include funding for the Sullivan High School sound system, city pool, a local humane shelter and a sports complex.
