Hoosier Energy supports local summer leagues

Hoosier Energy is sponsoring three Sullivan County baseball and softball leagues this summer as part of its commitment to local communities.

Sponsorships include the Carlisle Summer League, Sullivan Youth Baseball Association and the Sullivan County Girls Softball Summer League. Hoosier Energy supports Sullivan county organizations and community events in which its employees or their families get involved.

"Many Merom Station employees or their children participate in county youth baseball, softball, soccer and football programs as well as academic programs," explains Hoosier Energy Information Coordinator Becky Cox, who works with a donations committee that reviews contribution requests. "We try to support Sullivan County programs that our employees and their families are active in."

Hoosier Energy operates the Merom Station and four other power plants, two renewable energy plants and a 1,700-mile transmission network.

With headquarters in Bloomington, Hoosier Energy provides electric power and other services to Win Energy and 17 other electric cooperatives in southern Indiana and Southeastern Illinois.
